Dichroic Filters
Definition: Dichroic filters are durable glass color filters that transmit only certain wavelengths of light, reflecting the rest of the spectrum, rather than absorbing it. Since virtually no energy is absorbed by the filter, light transmission is significantly higher than traditional gels and will never burn out or fade.
A dichroic filter selectively transmits light according to its wavelength. Dichroic Filters are high-tech color separation filters that offer many benefits in controling light and color. The short explanation is that dichroic filters make a very pure color so the colors look more vibrant, deep and saturated. They just look a whole lot better!
